CREATE A SHAPE Construct the bag form by (

folding a sheet of newspaper in half along its vertical fold,
then (2) folding it again horizontally
lb create the bottom of the bug,
make equidistant creases on either
side of the horizontal fold. Cut a

-inch-wide cardboard strip the
length of the bottom of your bag and
insert between the folded newspaper.
Secure it with packing tape

LAMINATE W ITH TAPE Open the newspaper so
it’s flat, and cover both sides completely with long
strips of clear packing tape.

STRENGTHEN THE BAG Cut two
2
-inch-wide strips
of newspaper to the height of the folded bag and cover
both sides of the strips with packing tape From the
inside of the bag tape the side strips in place. Then, line
the outside edges of the bag w ith clear or duct tape.

ADD A HANDLE Punch four holes at the top of the
bag for a ribbon or rope handle. Use tape to reinforce
the holes or glue on grommets for added support. Get
creative, too—add a pocket!
